For most of the decade of the 1980’s I lived in Denver, Colorado. I had a friend named John who was a former nordic ski racer. He was kind enough, and patient enough to teach me the fundamentals of nordic skiing, also referred to as cross-country skiing. I loved it so much that I also bought a pair of cross-country roller skis. They were SwedSkis. When I moved to Texas I kept my love of this type of skiing going with an updated pair of roller skis.
Without John’s impact, influence, and example of skiing, I would have never known what has been so much fun.
This song is to acknowledge a friend from years gone by.
